    Autograph Order Signed "R.S. (Robert Selden) Garnett" as Adjutant Gen. Virginia Forces
    , May 27th 1861. Signed handwritten note ordering Col. A.C. Moore to report to Jubal Early's Command at Lynchburg.
    Garnett was adjutant general until appointed Brig. Gen. in the Confederate Provisional Army June 6, 1861. He was the first Confederate general officer killed in the Civil War at the battle of Rich Mountain, July 13, 1861.
