COMBINED SHIPPING ON UNLIMITED ITEMSDr. Joseph H. Chandler was born in Centreville in 1839 and practiced medic ine here from 1860 until 1908. He was raised in the Chandler-Gregg-Hershey house on Kennett Pike and later lived and maintained Delawareís large State medical practice in the Chandler-Dalton-Kimball-Boyer house. He also built the main house at (now) Frederickís Country Center and, at one time, o wned the Delaplaine House. Dr. Chandler served as a surgeon at Fort Delaware during the Civil War and ran (unsuccessfully) for Governor in 1904. He was one of the original officers of Centreville IOOF and was a member of the 1876 building committee responsible for constructing the Odd Fellows Hall. Dr. Joseph H. Chandler was IOOF State Grand Master.
