This is one of the many patriotic envelopes that were produced by the Union during the Civil War. The picture is of a cartoon "Brigadier General, the Honorable Henry A. Wise of Virginia, (The Individual who thanked God that his constituents did not read the newspapers,) taking a sight of the Northern Mudsilla." Below that is the name of the printer King & Baird of Philadelphia. It is in excellent condition and measures about 5 & 1/2" by 3 & 1/4".
