Jefferson Davis as Devil "Poor Disguise" Civil War Era Union Patriotic Envelope

Description

This is one of the many patriotic envelopes that were produced by the Union during the Civil War.  This one shows Jefferson Davis as the devil and is captioned "J.D. Putting his best foot forward", the other being a hoof.  It is also captioned "A Poor Disguise."  It is in fine condition and is about 5 & 1/2" by 3 & 1/4".  It was published by S. C. Upham, 310 Chestnut St.  It is 5 & 1/4" by 3" in good condition with a smudge on the front and no other damage.
